Our favourite animated blue heeler family, Bandit, Chilli, Bluey and Bingo, have listed their home for sale… for real life! Yes, the Queenslander we’ve come to know and love on the Australian children’s program (which has just as many grown-up devotees as tiny fans) has popped up on Domain.
The listing has amused, delighted and confused those who have come across it. Appearing like any legitimate property sale, the house is described as being “illustrated lovingly at the end of a cul-de-sac” with three bedrooms, “four-ish” bathrooms and one parking spot on an 800-metre square block.
It also says it has “mysterious hallways that don’t logically seem to join spaces together but always feel cohesive and purposeful. Perfect for endless play and games with the family.” We’ll take it!
Where do Bluey and Bingo live?
What’s the address of this Bluey home for sale? Well, the Domain real-estate listing says it’s in Brisbane City but from there things get a little, uh, vague. It explains that it’s a “quaint, animated family home nestled in an undisclosed Brisbane location, that could be in Red Hill or The Gap (we’ll never tell), with mid-century design aesthetics offset by whimsical touches.”
How much is Bluey house worth?
At this point we have more questions than answers. One of which is, how many dollar bucks is the picturesque Queenslander going for?! It doesn’t say on the Domain website, but it does have the contact for a dog called Becky Dunstan who’s the real estate agent, so you could probably shoot her an email to find out.
It’s not only us who are full of questions. The listing has prompted a lot of curious comments on social media. “I hope they move to the country and live on a farm!” said one person. “Hopefully this doesn’t mean an end to the show…” mused another. Our thoughts exactly!
While it feels a bit unexpected, eagle-eyed Bluey watchers might have seen a hint in a recent episode called ‘Ghostbasket’. In it, dad Bandit is pretending he’s a real-estate agent named Hugo trying to sell the family’s house. Kids Bluey and Bingo are pretending they’re grannies who don’t want their home to be sold.
“Notice the lovely period floorboards,” says ‘Hugo’ to mum Chilli who’s pretending to be interested buyer ‘Monique’. “Let’s check out the kitchen – oven, stove, fridge, you’ve got some drawers that open and shut,” he continues in a hurry as the grannies try to sabotage his efforts.
It’s classic Bluey humour, yet at the very end of the episode we see a ‘For Sale’ sign out the front of their home. But are the down-to-earth dogs really moving or is it just a very clever marketing stunt?
The Bluey team are definitely known for their incredible brand collaborations. In February 2024 they turned a Bunnings store in each state into Hammerbarn (the hardware store from the show that looks very similar to Bunnings). While in 2022 there was a Bluey Airbnb that was an exact replica of the Heeler’s Queenslander that people could stay in.
Is Bluey ending?
If you’re worried that we might no longer be seeing the family at their iconic address (or worse, that the show is ending!), all will be revealed very soon, according to the real-estate listing.
“Watch the 28-minute Bluey special episode ‘The Sign’ at 8am on Sunday April 14, on ABC Kids and ABC iview,” it says. “This is an exciting opportunity for all families around the world to see if this beloved, iconic house becomes home to a lucky new family.”
Maybe they’ll sell it or maybe they’ll stay after all. Either way, we’ll be tuning in… Any excuse for more Bluey!
