The House Rules finalists exceeded their expectations for the sale of the Adelaide home renovated in Season 5 of House Rules last year.
With the auction due to take place this weekend, Simon Noakes of managing agent Harris Real Estate told news.com.au the Brighton Road location of the home is in a prime location, close to high schools attracted two offers ahead of the planned auction, eventually selling on Friday for more than the $885,000 asking price.
“The owners had done a really good job of presenting it after the show,” Mr Noakes told news.com.au and it still bares the results of the House Rules renovation.
Fans of the show will recognise the designer touches, high-end finishes and open-plan living areas –controversial in the redesign by contesting House Rules teams all feature in what is now a beautiful family home. Kate and Harry pulled down the wall between the dining and living room themselves as part of their 24hour fix-up challenge on the show.
The couple have separated since the show aired and altered their original plans to live in the home before demolishing it and rebuilding it.
