It’s been dubbed “the biggest giveaway in Australian television history”, and now we finally have our first look at your next favourite home renovation reality show, ‘My Reno Rules’. Announced in late 2025, ‘My Reno Rules’ will follow four teams of two, as they renovate two side-by-side houses.
The Channel Seven series will be hosted by Dr Chris Brown, and feature judges Neale Whitaker, Julia Green and Simon Cohen. However, the show’s spicy hook comes from The Block‘s former serial bidder, Adrian Portelli, who is giving away the two homes at the end of the series.
“We’re not going to auction them away,” billionaire backer Portelli says in the series’ first promo. “We’re actually going to give them away to two Australian families.”
Meanwhile, the Reno teams will still compete for a cash prize, while facing an ever-changing landscape of Portelli’s rules.
Where is My Reno Rules being filmed?
My Reno Rules was filmed at 54 and 56 Pinnacle Crescent in Bulleen, Victoria. The neighbouring red brick homes have undergone complete façade renovations, but the interiors are still under wraps.

The My Reno Rules asbestos controversy
Filming was reportedly paused mid-season when possible asbestos was discovered inside the homes. Following Victorian laws, all of the work was paused so that licensed assessors could test and remove the suspected asbestos.
How does the show work?
Essentially, the four teams will each renovate different rooms and spaces across two separate homes. There will be different ‘rules’ (i.e. challenges or restrictions) set for the teams across each week or episode.
Unlike The Block, where the renovated properties are ultimately auctioned off, the My Reno Rules homes are given away to viewers who can enter to win.
Watch the first trailer:
“On previous reno shows, they might do auctions and, unfortunately, only 1 per cent of the viewing audience have the capacity to buy those homes,” Portelli told 7News. “So, it’s an awesome feeling to be able to take the viewers on an emotional journey, watch the houses get renovated and transformed into a dream luxury home, then potentially win it.”
Who are the My Reno Rules judges?
My Reno Rules will have three judges to aide, prod, evaluate and award our competing teams. They are:
Neale Whitaker
Style Icon
Neale Whitaker likely needs no introduction, with former TV credits including The Block and Love It Or List It. An interior design expert, Neale is renowned for his taste, thus earning him the title of ‘Style Icon’ on My Reno Rules.
Simon Cohen
Top Buyer’s Agent
My Reno Rules real estate expert is Simon Cohen, who you may have seen on Dream Home or Luxe Listings Sydney. An experienced buyer’s agent and the co-founder of Australia’s largest property buyer’s agency, Cohen Handler, Simon brings a thorough knowledge of the property market to our expert panel.
Julia Green
Interior Design Expert
The design expert on My Reno Rules is Julia Green, the founder of interior styling company, Greenhouse Interiors. A former pharmaceutical executive, Julia made a major career switch in 2010, when she founded her styling company, which also curates and deals in boutique textiles, homewares and fine art.
Who is the host of My Reno Rules?

The renovation series will be hosted by Dr Chris Brown, who also hosted Channel Seven’s, Dream Home. Dr Chris previously fronted shows on Channel 10, including Bondi Vet and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Who is Adrian Portelli?
Contrary to some belief, Adrian Portelli is not a host of My Reno Rules. Instead the 36-year-old billionaire and LMCT+ lottery founder will appear sporadically on the series to set the eponymous ‘Rules’ for our My Reno Rules contestants, and ultimately give away the homes.
Portelli gained a name for himself as ‘lambo guy’ — a mysterious serial bidder on competing renovation series, The Block. It is rumoured that Portelli is worth around $1.3 billion, largely thanks to his extensive property portfolio.
Where to watch My Reno Rules
