Emma and Ben’s renovation journey is officially underway, with The Block 2025 favourites picking up the tools once again to transform their latest fixer-upper.
After purchasing a $920,000 property in Mount Martha on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula earlier this year, Emma and Ben Cox have now given followers a closer look at the house they plan to transform – and they certainly have their work cut out for them.
Calling the project “Chapter #5”, the couple shared footage of the dated home on Instagram, revealing that work on their next renovation is finally about to begin.
“She’s rough around the edges, needs a LOT of love and there’s a very long list of jobs ahead of us… but we can already see what this home could be,” Emma and Ben wrote.
“We’re officially picking the tools back up and kicking off our newest renovation and this one is going to be a journey.”
And judging by the before footage, we have a feeling this transformation is going to be a good one.
Emma and Ben’s renovation is their next chapter after The Block
Fans first learnt of the couple’s new project in April, when Emma and Ben announced they had purchased the three-bedroom Mount Martha home for $920,000.
“Chapter 5 locked in,” they wrote at the time. “Tools Down didn’t last too long… excited to start this new project.”
Set on a generous 957-square-metre block in a quiet court, the property backs onto a treed reserve and already has plenty for the experienced renovators to work with.
Along with three bedrooms, the existing home has two living zones, a covered alfresco area and a large backyard with a fire pit and play area.
But as their latest video makes clear, there is plenty of room for Emma and Ben to put their stamp on it.
A first look inside Emma and Ben’s renovation
While the couple haven’t revealed their complete renovation plans just yet, the first glimpse inside shows a home ripe for transformation. Rather than hiding the work ahead, Emma and Ben appear ready to embrace every part of the process – including, as they joked, the “chaos, questionable decisions, before & afters” along the way.
“Welcome to our next project,” they wrote. “Chapter #5 ~ Let’s see what magic we can create.”
For fans of the couple on The Block, the project also offers the chance to see what Emma and Ben can create without weekly room reveals, judging scores and Scott Cam’s infamous deadlines hanging over their heads.
And there’s good reason to expect something special.
Emma and Ben are no strangers to renovating
Of course, Emma and Ben’s renovation isn’t their first project away from The Block. Before heading to Daylesford, the couple had already completed an impressive renovation of their own family home in Mornington. The couple purchased the property in 2022 with plans for a “quick flip”, only for the project to become much bigger than they initially anticipated.
What emerged was a beautiful four-bedroom Hamptons-inspired family home, complete with two-tone shaker cabinetry, stone benchtops, generous open-plan living spaces, a large outdoor entertaining area and a swimming pool.
Emma and Ben later admitted the renovation took “2 years longer than expected”, but the result became something of a dream home for the young family.
Following their time on The Block, however, Emma and Ben made the difficult decision to sell the Mornington property and move onto their next project. The home sold in January 2026, and in a rather fitting twist, subsequently became the share house used by The Block 2026 contestants during filming.
From The Block to Emma and Ben’s renovation
Emma and Ben became fan favourites during the 2025 season of The Block in Daylesford after finally making it onto the show on their seventh attempt.
The couple impressed throughout the competition with their polished interiors and renovation know-how, but their Block journey ultimately ended in disappointment when their Daylesford property failed to sell under the hammer.
They subsequently sold their own renovated Mornington home before snapping up the Mount Martha property and beginning their next chapter.
Now, Emma and Ben’s renovation gives them another opportunity to put everything they learnt on The Block into practice… this time on their own terms.
What are Emma and Ben planning for the Mount Martha home?
For now, the couple are keeping the finer details of their renovation under wraps.
What we do know is that they can already see plenty of potential in the tired property and plan to document the transformation as it unfolds.
The large block also gives the pair considerable scope to rethink how the home connects with its outdoor spaces, while the existing interiors provide the kind of blank canvas most serial renovators dream about.
If their time on The Block taught us anything, it’s that Emma and Ben aren’t afraid of a challenge. And unlike their television renovation, this time we’ll get to watch the transformation happen without knowing exactly what – or when – the finished home will be revealed.
As Emma and Ben put it themselves: “This is only the beginning.”
