Just when we thought The Block 2027 couldn’t get any bigger, a brand new spin-off has been announced–and this one is bringing some familiar faces back to the building site.
The Block: The House Next Door will premiere exclusively on Stan in 2027, with fan-favourite former Block contestants returning to renovate a sixth property alongside the five new teams competing on the main show.
And yes, there will be room reveals, judging and plenty of renovation drama.
The new series will unfold just metres away from the main competition at Jacksons Hall in Sunbury, Victoria, where The Block is taking on one of its most ambitious projects yet.
What is The Block: The House Next Door?
Think of The Block: The House Next Door as the main competition’s rather intriguing new neighbour. While five new teams tackle their homes on The Block 2027, a team of returning Block favourites will be working on a sixth property nearby.
They’ll renovate the same rooms week by week, meaning viewers will effectively have another home to watch transform alongside the main Block houses.
Weekly room reveals from the spin-off will stream exclusively on Stan.
The identity of the returning contestants is still under wraps, so exactly which familiar Blockheads will be picking up their tool again remains one of the big questions ahead of 2027.
Where will The Block: The House Next Door be filmed?
The spin-off will be filmed at Jacksons Hill in Sunbury, around 40 minuts north-west of Melbourne. It’s the same historic site chosen for The Block 2027, which will se contestants swap the new builds of recent seasons for major heritage renovations.
Nine has acquired three heritage buildings at Jacksons Hill, which date back around 170 years and have previously been used as an industrial school, psychiatric hospital and university campus.
The main series will transform the historic buildings into five family homes, while The Block: The House Next Door adds a sixth renovation to the mix.
It should make for a very different kind of Block season–and potentially some seriously spectacular before-and-afters.
Who will host The Block: The House Next Door?
There will be familiar faces in front of the camera, too, with Scott Cam and Shelley Craft confirmed to host the new series.
Exactly who will be judging the rooms is yet to be announced. And then there’s the biggest mystery of all: which former contestants are coming back?
For now, Nine is only promising fan-favourite Block all-stars, leaving us to speculate about which memorable renovators could be heading back to site for another shot at Block glory.

An official premiere date hasn’t been announced yet. With the spin-off contestants renovating alongside The Block’s five new teams, however, the two shows will be closely connected throughout the series.
For Block fans who already spend their nights dissecting every bathroom tile, kitchen island and controversial judging score, it looks like 2027 is about to deliver even more renovating to obsess over.
