While I adore hosting friends and family for overnight stays, finding the perfect sofa bed for my, albeit tiny, townhouse has proven quite the challenge. After all, a restless sleep on a flimsy, thin mattress is guaranteed to put a damper on long-overdue resolutions.

After stumbling across the 5-in-1 Nimble Sofa Bed on TikTok (and then combing through the glowing reviews on Ecosa’s website), I haven’t been able to get it off my mind, and considering it popped on my feed in the midst of my own sofa-bed search, it did feel a little like fate.
Featuring an organically curved silhouette available in a range of rich, earthy colourways, and a versatile 5-in-1 design, it checked all my aesthetic and space-saving requirements. Add in the medium-firm mattress with high-density foam and pocket springs for comfort, and I was sold.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been putting the Nimble Sofa Bed to the test; lounging, stretching, relaxing, reconfiguring, and lying out to my heart’s content. Below, you’ll find my honest thoughts on the season’s all-star sofa bed, and why it has now taken the place of my ‘regular’ sofa, pride of place in my living room.

- Why I rated it an 8.5/10: Ecosa’s Nimble Sofa Bed challenged all the preconceptions I had about pull-out couches. It’s comfortable, stylish, and endlessly versatile; it’s the type of cloudlike sofa bed you’ll go out of your way to lounge on, even when it’s tucked away in the guest room (and one you’ll feel proud of when an overnight guest pops in). Better yet, the 5-in-1 configuration makes it perfect for hosting multiple people at once, owing to the five configuration option. My only, albeit minor, gripe is that the fabric and colour combo I opted for seems to highlight every speckle and piece of fluff.

What’s so special about the Ecosa Nimble Sofa Bed?
What sets the Ecosa Nimble Sofa Bed apart from other models on the market is its versatility and aesthetically-driven design. Unlike most sofa beds, which often favour practicality over design, the Nimble model delivers elevated comfort in an aesthetically pleasing package. In fact, I liked the look of my deep green model so much that it’s now set up in my living room, just so I can look at it (and lounge on it) more often.
The 5 configuration options also go a long way. Convert the Nimble sofa bed from a cloudlike sofa to a plush king bed in seconds; all you need to do is unstack the bases and zip them together. And if you have two friends staying the night who don’t particularly want to share a bed, simply separate the bases. You can even use the wooden side pieces to create a partition for extra privacy.
The Nimble Sofa Bed also boasts removable, washable covers, making it oh-so much easier to keep your covers looking fresher for longer. Personally, I’m hoping that Ecosa will eventually release covers as a separate product, so I can switch the colourway whenever I’m craving a design refresh.

In short, assembling the Ecosa Nimble Sofa Bed is incredibly simple (in fact, I think there were only 16 screws involved). However, the pieces can be a little heavy and cumbersome to move around with, so try to avoid doing what I did and putting the sofa bed together on a 35-degree summer day. On that note, those who watch the review video below and notice my forehead becoming increasingly sweatier, let’s ignore that, shall we?
There were no tools required, besides the provided coin piece, which is used to tighten the screws. And, to my surprise, the 10-minute assembly claim on Ecosa’s website was no exaggeration; it really was that quick. Besides the heat and weight, the only steps that I struggled with were getting the armrests to fit in the fabric covers, but once I enlisted the help of my partner, it was much, much easier.
Results from my test
If you haven’t already guessed from my glowing commentary, and the fact I replaced my regular sofa with this model, I absolutely adore Ecosa’s Nimble Sofa Bed. If I ever needed another sofa bed, I’d repurchase it in a heartbeat.
My dachshund, Lola, also loved it, as anyone who watches my video review can very clearly see. And while one might think I forced her participation for cute clips, it was, in fact, all voluntary; apparently, she’s Ecosa’s #1 fan.

Is the Ecosa Nimble Sofa Bed comfortable?
When it comes to comfort and support, there really is no beating the Ecosa Nimble Sofa Bed.
When shopping for a new sofa bed, I did so with my favourite houseguests in mind; my parents. And as my mum and dad are both prone to a bit of back pain when sleeping on low-quality mattresses, and often insist on staying in a hotel when visiting, comfort was my highest priority.
During their last Sydney visit, my parents did have the chance to try out the Nimble Sofa Bed, and, as expected, adored it just as much as I do. In fact, they’re now planning to invest in their very own Ecosa sofa, and given that my mum is incredibly particular about aesthetics, it speaks volumes to the piece’s design appeal.
While I have yet to spend a whole night on it, I’ve taken many a long nap on this sofa bed, and I’ve always woken up relaxed and refreshed. My boyfriend and I simply adore how deep and spacious the seats are, and love converting it into a lounger for movie nights. And since I don’t have any overnight guests coming to stay (for a little while at least) I’ve even relocated it to my living room, just so we can enjoy sitting on it and looking at it every day.

Absolutely, one-hundred times yes! I utterly adore the Ecosa Nimble Sofa Bed, and the warm, fuzzy feeling I get when guests tell me they had a fantastic sleep on it. Better yet, swapping my normal sofa for the Nimble has completely elevated my living room; something I never thought a sofa bed was capable of.
Most of us are all too familiar with the experience of tossing and turning on a terrible sofa bed, and yet so many of us are still subjecting our overnight guests to the same discomfort (on models we don’t even like the look of, no less). No judgment, of course; my pre-Ecosa self is guilty of the same. However, now that I’ve experienced the joy of a cloudlike, stylish sofa bed, I feel obliged to encourage all hosts to treat their guests to a little luxury the next time they come to stay.
