Moving from a townhouse to a tiny apartment has its upsides: there’s far less to clean, creepy crawlies can’t just wander through my front door, and I’m forced to be intentional with the furniture and decor I take home. The one change I didn’t adore, however, was the lack of storage – until the endlessly clever Sienna Storage Bed from Ecosa arrived on my doorstep.

Working in the design sphere, I’ve amassed a metric tonne of bed linen and kitchenware (woe is me, I know). And when paired with an equally gargantuan assortment of clothes and shoes, the idea of fitting everything into a few kitchen cupboards and a standard built-in wardrobe becomes a fool’s errand. To make it work, I knew I had to be clever with my furniture choices, opting for pieces with hidden drawers, cubbies, and nooks, whilst still maintaining the interior aesthetic I’ve worked very hard to cultivate.
My highest priority? A storage bed with pull-out storage, rather than a gas lift function, so I wasn’t messing up my careful tucks and folds every time I wanted to access what was hidden below. And to make my search even more difficult, I decided the design had to have a plush fabric finish (to cushion the inevitable shin knocks when pulling out drawers) and a stylish headboard too.
Yes, I’m picky, but it’s this pickiness that resulted in me finding the perfect space-saving solution for my very tiny apartment: the Sienna Storage Bed from Ecosa.

Meet my tiny home hero: Ecosa’s Sierra Storage Bed
I spent weeks combing through the internet archives of storage beds to little avail; the designs I loved were often gas-lift (which may work for some, but aren’t quite right for me), and those with ideal functionality were often just plain ugly. When I stumbled upon the Sierra Storage Bed from Ecosa, however, I was almost sceptical, given how it ticked every single one of my boxes.
Naturally, my next step was to head over to social media to conduct a little extra research. By all accounts, and there are a lot available across TikTok and Instagram, the bed frame is the real deal: sturdy, easy to assemble, and equipped with enough storage to suit even the most prolific linen collector.
Naturally, I placed an order (did I mention Ecosa offers next-day delivery to metro areas?), and since it arrived, I’ve been putting it to the test, along with Ecosa’s Pure Mattress in Medium-Plush, to see if it can stand up to my rigorous storage and comfort demands.

- Why I rated it an 8.5/10: Ecosa’s Sierra Storage Bed completely transformed my cluttered apartment into an organised haven. Despite my initial reservations about how much the four drawers could really hold, it boasts plenty of space for my extra bedding, shoes, and other miscellaneous goods that simply don’t fit anywhere else. Assembly was straightforward, even with just one person, and the build feels remarkably sturdy for such a reasonably priced bed. Paired with the cloud-like Pure Mattress, it’s the practical sleep setup I’ve been dreaming of.

What’s so special about the Ecosa Sierra Storage Bed Frame?
What sets the Sierra Storage Bed apart from other space-saving bed frames on the market is how accessible the generous under-bed drawers are.
Most storage beds seem to fall into one of two categories: finicky gas lift frames with generous storage, or frames with small pull-out drawers that aren’t big enough to make any real difference in tiny homes. The Sierra frame offers the best of both worlds, boasting four 72 cm D x 62 cm W x 13 cm H drawers; plenty of space for spare sheets, pillows, or even a winter quilt.
For homes like mine, where storage is the hottest commodity, this bedframe essentially serves as another wardrobe. And because the drawers simply pull out, you dont have to upend your entire mattress everytime you want to reach for a throw you’ve stored away.

I’ve assembled a fair few bed bases in my time, and putting together the Sienna Storage Bed was surprisingly painless (disposing of the packaging, however, was another story).
While Ecosa recommends having two people put the base together, I didn’t have time to wait for a friend to arrive, and ended up assembling the whole bed frame solo. Would it have been much easier with an extra set of hands? Absolutely. Was it still doable as a single person with a notable lack of muscle mass? Also yes.
The sides of the base clip together remarkably easily, with no screws or tools required; my only warning is to make sure you clip them together in the right order, or getting the last two to slot together will be nearly impossible. Once the sides are assembled, however, you just have to pop down the slats. Start where the velcro strip begins, not at the very front of the bed, and lay them down one by one. Then, simply pop the headboard on (it attaches surprisingly easily to the bed base; just slip it over and secure it at the bottom), insert the cushions into the covers, then zip them back onto the frame.
The final step is assembling the 4 drawers, which take about 5 or so minutes each; If I followed the instructions and enlisted the help of a second person, the entire process probably would have taken around 30 minutes, but due to my impatience and a couple of incidents of user error, I was working on it for closer to an hour. That being said, it definitely wasn’t hard.
All the necessary tools were supplied by Ecosa, and it didn’t take a DIY expert to decode the instructions (unlike many other flat-pack pieces I’ve had the misfortune of assembling). The hardest part was simply hauling the mattress on top and getting it out of the vacuum-packed packaging, but again, the difficulty was entirely self-inflicted, and could be avoided entirely with the help of an extra set of hands.
Results from my test
In short, I absolutely adore this bed frame. It saved my countertops from total disarray and my wardrobe from overflowing, and it looks great all dressed up in my favourite linens.
The fact I could put it together all by myself really goes to show just how foolproof the assembly process is, and the added comfort from my new Pure mattress has totally transformed my sleep. Yes, it’s a game changer for small apartments, but I’d argue that it’s a great bedframe for any household, regardless of whether you need extra storage.

Are the Ecosa Sierra Storage Bed and Pure Mattress comfortable?
I’m a very fussy sleeper, and even I can’t fault the Sierra Storage Bed & Pure Mattress combo on comfort.
Having slept on my new bed for over a week now, I can confidently say this setup is a huge upgrade from what I was spending my nights on before. Initially, I was a little sceptical about choosing a box mattress, especially since I prefer my bed on the very plush side. However, the PureMattress exceeded every expectation; it’s soft, supportive, doesn’t dip, and I’ve yet to wake up with a sore back (which is a huge win for someone as prone to tension as I am).
My favourite feature of the Pure Mattress, however, is that the comfort level is fully customisable. When placing your order, you choose between Medium-Firm and Medium-Plush (naturally, I opted for the latter), with each variation boasting a different firmness level on each side of the top layer. That means that I can sleep on a medium mattress when I need a little extra structure, then flip it to the plush side when I’m after pure indulgence.
It’s worth noting that after removing the mattress from the vacuum-sealed bag, you’ll need to wait 24-72 hours for it to fully inflate (hence my time crunch when assembling the base solo). Sure, you can sleep on a mattress while it’s still expanding, but it could lead to the layers expanding unevenly or a firmer feel overall. I can attest to the fact that the Pure Mattress is remarkably lush when left to do its thing, so I highly recommend giving it time to fully inflate before settling in for a snooze.
Should you buy the Ecosa Sienna Storage Bed?
One hundred per cent yes! And what’s more, I highly recommend pairing it with the Pure Mattress for an all-rounder sleep upgrade.
If you’re tired of complicated assembly, squeaking slats, and stuffing your things into already overfilled drawers, this bed frame is the upgrade you don’t even know you need. Since adding the Sierra to my tiny apartment, my space feels less cluttered, more plush, and a whole lot more organised.
