IKEA wants us all to play. Following research that came out of their ‘Play Report’ in 2017 that found people of all ages are moving away from spontaneous and creative play, IKEA have developed a new range of toys to encourage kids of all ages to think, move and learn – just in time for Christmas.
Ever at the ready to flex its social conscience muscle, IKEA surveyed over 300 individuals aged from 2-90 across the world to find out what play means to them. Working together with psychologists, teachers, parents and kids, the resulting Play Report identified five key “play needs” that IKEA has taken so seriously, its designed a range toys and activities to meet these needs and foster growth, learning and fun – all through play.
“Play, or being playful, is engaging in a light-hearted activity that is satisfying and spontaneous.”IKEA Play Report 2017
