Beautiful Rooms inspiration

Pared-back elegance brings out the best of this grand sitting room in country NSW. Here, the inky rimmed windows are the hero while an understated palette says comfort and invitation. A stunning chandelier is the hero in this lovely Queensland bedroom – try Chandelierium for similar. French Provincial-inspired pieces continue the luxe look. Subtle colour comes courtesy of the ‘Nyponros’ quilt cover from Ikea while a whimsical ‘Waterfall Ruffle’ curtain from Urban Outfitters adds to the prettiness. 

Black accents and finishes care of chic ‘Cliff’ bar stools from Vincent 2 and a striking copper and black steel pendant from Angelucci 20th Century give this stunning kitchen its contemporary edge. Warmth and layering is provided by green touches and a mullti-coloured rug that is a landing spot in cooler months.   

This country charmer is a serene and soulful haven, thanks to a beautifully subtle palette – walls are painted in Dulux’s Pearl Ash – and pieces, including chairs from La Maison and French Dressing, with a distinctly Gallic touch. The dark ‘Scenic Walk’ carpet in Pepper by Carpet Court is both luscious and practical.  

Contemporary style blends with vintage flair in this beautiful dining area, centred by a perfectly sized vintage patchwork rug from Loom. Pendant lights from Tarlo & Graham draw the eye to the high ceilings.   

With its personal pieces, luxe finishes and upcycled furniture, this eye-catching bathroom has the feel of a living space. A revamped dresser from Early Settler is matched elegantly here with a mirror picked up on eBay and tapware from Early Settler. 

A pare of chartreuse occasional chairs originally found at Freedom introduces a gorgeous splash of colour to this Melbourne living room, designed by Carolyn Burns-McCrave.
