Living room
In a living space created by Claire and Hagan, an Elliot TV unit from Ecochic takes pride of place. The entertainment system is by Sony, sourced from Appliances Online.

Living room
It’s all glamour in the Manhattan-inspired living area, thanks to a chandelier from Beacon Lighting and a gorgeous mirror from Ecochic.

Living room
A dark blue ‘Eden’ sofa from Matt Blatt seats three, while a nifty table and chairs, also from Matt Blatt, provide a spot for meals. The pair packed in a lot – and in the judges’ opinion, a little too much.

Living room
An ‘El Paso’ desk and replica Ghost chair, both Matt Blatt, make a chic corner. Extra storage comes via wall-mounted box shelves from Loft Furniture & Other Ideas.

Kitchen
Luke and Cody took on the challenge of this wee kitchen, which had to squeeze in a laundry, too. Judge Joe Snell was impressed with the thoughtful planning. The ‘Beaumaris’ pantry and doors and Hafele cabinets and wall panels are all from Masters, matched with a grey benchtop by Caesarstone. The combined washer-dryer is by Electrolux.

Manhattan cool
The master bedroom was Fil and Joe’s challenge: they chose ‘Alabaster’ paint by Resene for a touch a drama and added an ‘Yvette’ drum light from Beacon, with the scheme finding favour with the judges. The ‘Armande’ bed is from Forty Winks.

Bathroom
Luke and Cody designed this bathroom, starting with classic white subway tiles with dark grout to meet the Manhattan rule. Dark charcoal floor tiles from Beaumont Tiles are the perfect counterpoint to a glamorous chandelier from Beacon Lighting. Judge Wendy Moore loved the warm wood vanity bench.
