Go directly to the maker, not only for inspiration but to hear their stories and get your hands on beautiful pieces that don’t usually make it to market. Grab your diary, grab a buddy and read on.

Sydney Craft Week is underway and there’s a host of artist studios, workshops, markets and creative happenings to explore.
According to the National Arts Participation Survey, 30% of Australians (and 34% of women) creatively participate in visual arts and craft, while 46% attend visual arts and craft events.
An initiative of the Australian Design Centre (ADC), Sydney Craft Week is a series of events being held in and around Sydney in celebration of it’s makers. Says ADC CEO and Artistic Director Lisa Cahill, “We have a diverse community of makers in our beautiful city whose hands weave, hammer, throw, bend, twist, fire, decorate, create and problem-solve, day in, day out.”
“We want to show people that there are all sorts of opportunities to learn new making skills and develop their own practice.”
Lisa Cahill, CEO, the Australian Design Centre
