Team QLD – Master suite
Aaron and Daniella pulled down the dividing wall between their bedroom and ensuite in under 30 minutes and replaced it with a Team VIC- inspired timber screen, allowing them to create their longed-for, five-star master suite.

Statement lighting and open-plan access lifted Aaron and Daniella’s bedroom and ensuite to five-star status. The ‘Palm Springs’ white iron chandelier is from Gypset Cargo in Byron Bay.
Team QLD – Entrance
Daniella heeded the advice of judge Drew Heath to combine house rules by bringing gold into the timber-lined entrance. With a new shelving unit constructed by Aaron, Daniella dressed the zone with tropical touches.
Team QLD – Jaxon’s bedroom
The homeowners and the judges all spoke of the lack of furnishings and storage in little Jaxon’s bedroom in Troy and Bec’s execution of their house rules. With a tight budget, Aaron elected to add a playful custom-built bedhead and a shelving surround for the blackboard and toy area. A much more substantial structure, this lifted the bed to new heights and added a sense of fun and adventure.
Team WA – Entrance and hallway
Andrew and Jono liked Fiona and Nicole’s choice of paint colour in the entrance, opting to simplify the space by removing the shelving and bringing in artworks and new pendant lighting. A colourful runner on the floor from Kaleidoscope Rugs delineates the space from the living room. Top of their list, however, was the removal of the bright lime green and purple walls in the hallway. Taking down the R2D2 mural at the end of the hall, they faced their fair share of wallpapering, replacing it with a panel of retro pattern from Wall Candy.
Team WA – Speakeasy bar
The boys opted to overhaul their speakeasy in 24 hours, meaning their biggest decorating task yet. The wall of rendered brick wallpaper from Wall Candy was much closer to the speakeasy design brief and a more considered furniture choice and arrangement created a comfortable conversation area.

The Chesterfield, found online, was a hit and perfectly fitted both the space and the design brief. Low tables and simple decoration complete the look.
Team Tasmania – living room
Sean and Ella took a big risk in their zone, embracing their love of timber with the makeover of the living room and hallway, renovated by Fiona and Nicole. Chosen by Sean, a lively pink paint was used to line the recess beside the fireplace, where they removed the taxidermy deer head and installed shelving for indoor plants. Lifting the fireplace feature from dark and moody to light and bright with a coat of white paint, they topped bench seats either side of the chimney breast with timber. Replacing Fiona and Nicole’s statement piece of an upcycled vintage chest, enormous slices of stacked timber became a coffee table in front of everyone’s favourite sofa.
Team Tasmania – Hallway
Hitting their own house rules, Sean and Ella lined their hallway ceiling with a series of exposed beams over candy-pink paint and replaced the gallery of deer heads with new artworks more in line with their taste. Below the dado, a panel painted a deep green adds warmth.
Team SA – the removal of THE WALL
The great dividing wall finally came down in Kate and Harry’s SA living room, opening up the space to the dining room but eating up lots of valuable time in their allotted 24 hours. Their makeover streamlined the bohemian look with the removal of layers of soft furnishings styled by Fiona and Nicole, and freed a line of sight to the corner study nook.
Team SA – Laundry
In Kate and Harry’s laundry, the couple chose to do away with the black splashback and LED strip lighting and re-tile. The pendant light was removed and the wall painted in their signature soft pink blush tone.

New ‘Fusion Hex Blend’ tiles in Black from Beaumont Tiles and greenery provide a cleaner finish in Kate and Harry’s laundry.
