We chat to TV personality and interiors guru Tara Dennis about her beautiful new eponymous homewares store in Sydney’s Wahroonga, where she will also be holding style and decorating workshops.
What inspired you to open a shop?
“It’s always been a dream. TV has been my career for almost 20 years and, alongside having two children, my time has been totally consumed. This year, the stars aligned and it finally felt right to start something new.”
Does it cater to a particular look or style?
“The fresh, light and airy style we’ve created is totally me. People ask, ‘Is it Hamptons, is it Scandi?’ It’s hard to put a tag on the look.”
The beautiful interior is styled to inspire your own home.
What will you add to your home this winter?
“I’m layering it up, for sure! I’ve already ordered an Armadillo & Co rug and beautiful sheepskins. We’re stocking French linen sheets so I’ll be indulging in some in graphite grey, as well as a few Iosis velvet and linen cushions.”
Can you tell us about the workshops you are planning to run?
“I took on the Annie Sloan range of Chalk Paints, so I’ll be teaching furniture painting. I’ll also be holding styling and design workshops, watercolour, calligraphy and printmaking, as well as knitting, crochet and macramé.”
