This stylish bush retreat offers the ultimate glamping experience

Turon Gates is a stunning sanctuary in the Blue Mountains

Turon Gates is an authentic bush retreat just a few hours’ drive from Sydney offering log cabins, campsites and – most recently – stunning glamping tents for those who love the great outdoors but like a touch of luxury too.

The property is set on 6000 acres of unspoilt wilderness in Capertee Valley, so if you truly dream of getting away from it all and unplugging for a couple of days, it’s the perfect spot.

Each of the six adults-only glamping tents has a large outdoor deck with comfortable day loungers overlooking the clear trout stream running through the property. The tents are fully insulated and have window coverings that unroll for extra breeze and views – perfect for a romantic night under the stars.

“We are excited to bring couples’ glamping to the Blue Mountains and believe it will appeal to those looking for a unique experience within easy reach of Sydney,” says Kirsten Lunoe, co-manager at Turon Gates.

“Our new glamping tents offer urban escapees a unique outdoor experience in an authentic bush setting. A scenic road trip of about three hours from Sydney immerses you in the great outdoors, where you’ll be sharing the ‘hood with kangaroos, wombats, platypus and echidnas.”

The beauty of Turon Gates is that you can do as much or as little as you like. Soak up the sun on the deck, curl up with a book in a hammock, and play board games while you sip on a glass of local red wine in the evenings.

If you’re keen for a little adventure, take a bush walk, hire a kayak, or go horse-riding. Capertee village is a short 15-minute drive away and has a wonderful old country pub, The Royal Hotel, where you can enjoy a meal and a drink in the beer garden. There’s also a boutique whiskey distillery, Craft Works, open on weekends.

If you fancy venturing further afield, Katoomba, Mudgee, Bathurst and Lithgow are all within easy reach of the property too and offer vineyards, excellent cafes, bars and restaurants.
