Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are saying goodbye to the Los Angeles family home where they spent more than a decade raising their two children, listing the sprawling Brentwood estate for an eye-watering US$10.5 million (approximately AU$16 million).
Nestled within the leafy surrounds of Mandeville Canyon, the Hamptons-inspired residence is a study in timeless elegance, blending classic architecture with relaxed California living. Purchased by the Hollywood couple in 2013 for US$6.1 million, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home spans more than 7300 square feet across three levels.
At the heart of the home is an expansive open-plan kitchen, complete with an oversized island bench, casual dining nook and generous living area that spills effortlessly onto the landscaped backyard.

Designed with family life firmly in mind, the interiors balance grandeur with warmth. Sunlight streams through French doors, illuminating sweeping living spaces layered with soft neutral tones, warm timber finishes and tailored furnishings.
The couple have been living in the home with their daughter Charlotte, 16, and son Rocky, 13, and told their listing agent how special the place has been for their family.
“It was an incredible place to raise children. The home feels safe, private, and part of a wonderful community.

Elsewhere, the home boasts a sophisticated formal dining room, a book-lined library, home office, stunning entertaining areas and even and gym to further elevate the home’s family-friendly appeal.
Outside, vast lawns and mature trees and resort-style amenities create a private sanctuary in the city. A sparkling swimming pool and entertaining terrace transforms the backyard into a holiday-worthy escape.
According to listing agent Cindy Ambuehl, Sarah’s impeccable eye for interiors helped shape the home’s character, with bespoke furnishings, wallpapers and drapery selected to create a polished yet welcoming atmosphere.
The sale marks the end of an era for one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples, who met while filming the 1997 cult classic I Know What You Did Last Summer and married in 2002.
