In celebration of its 15th anniversary, bespoke travel club Mr & Mrs Smith is returning to its publishing roots with the launch of a new coffee table book, The World’s Sexiest Bedrooms.
Long renowned for scouring the world in search of the ultimate couples’ getaways, the team of travel experts have created an enticing coffee table book featuring 35 supremely seductive suites shot by in-demand art photographer, Polly Brown, chosen for her flirtatious and playful style.
With snug country cottages, canopy covered safari lodges and cliff-clung island perches, the book reads as a collection of honeymoon-worthy hotels of every shape and size. There are old classics, new loves, passion projects and statement stays from the Cotswolds to the Caribbean, Paris to Phuket.
‘We wanted to mark our anniversary in the best way we knew how – paying tribute to the most romantic rooms we’ve discovered in proper, unputdownable print.”James Lohan, Mr & Mrs Smith co-founder
Each spread details the room’s romantic allure and gives an insider guide to the hotel and the local area, and a quote from whichever tastemaker had the hard task of staying there.
‘We launched our first guide back in 2003 book because we were so tired of traditional hotel guide books,” says Mr & Mrs Smith founder Tamara Lohan. “In much the same way, travel photography today has become so similar and we were desperate to do something disruptive.”
Each copy of the book comes with a bonus AUD$53 AUD Mr & Mrs Smith voucher to redeem against any stay in its hotel and villa collection. There are also five ‘golden tickets’ giving lucky recipients AUD$1,747 to spend.
‘Cool, fun, elegant… If I want to feel the sun on my face or hear the clatter of palm trees then I’ll just quickly and quietly rifle through a page or 37…’Melinda Stevens, Editor, Condé Nast Traveller
Published by Thames & Hudson in hardback coffee table format, the book retails for $53. Find more information here.
