Rachel Laxer’s US homes
Reminiscent of her first flat in Tokyo, interior designer Rachel Lexar’s US home exudes simplicity and tranquillity. “The house is full of pockets and sliding doors so that you have the option of opening and closing a room depending on what is going on. The design is all about family, entertainment, and relaxation in an elegant but informal way. This ethos of relaxed elegance is the core of my design belief,” says Laxer.
This sleek room is brought together with dark shelving, chairs and cushions. Natural light makes this a calm oasis to curl up with a book.
For formal occasions, this glitzy space is just the thing. The chandelier is vintage and the table custom made.
Custom-designed shelving gives pride of place to the family’s treasured possessions.
A handsome space for the family to work in.
Super luxurious, the main bedroom is a parental retreat complete with an ensuite and fireplace.
Hotel-style luxury is evident in the main bathroom with double vanity’s, large free-standing bath and walk-in shower.
White walls and cabinetry bounce light around while the timber flooring adds warmth to the room.
The terrace is a sun-soaked space with touches of greenery to connect with the outdoors.
With a penchant for stunning lighting, the chandelier, by Mark Brazier-Jones, is a show-stopping piece that can be seen from the front door.
