Living room
Neutral finishes and furnishings, including a sisal rug and oatmeal couches from King Furniture, provide the backdrop to feature pieces like the distressed side table from Black & Spiro. Outside, the enviably wide verandah takes advantage of the great bushland views.
Dining area
In the dining area, an elegant sideboard from Black & Spiro displays a treasure trove of autumn-toned collectables, including an original 1930s London Underground poster by iconic British illustrator Edward Bawden.
Kitchen
Open panelled shelving below the Essastone island benchtop seamlessly integrates the kitchen with the living zone. Above, a trio of ‘Mega Bulb’ pendant lights from Great Dane adds a subtle modern touch. The bank of vintage-style custom joinery and cabinets were designed to resemble a sideboard. The cabinets were given a chic 2-pac finish in Porter’s Paints French Blue, which contrasts beautifully with the darker base cabinets in Porter’s Paints Jaguar.
Ensuite
A minimalist look permeates the bathroom, with large-format charcoal tiles from Beaumont Tiles on the floor and subway ones from Elite Bathware and Tiles on the walls.
Main bedroom
A stool was paint-dipped to create a bedside table that echoes the main bedroom’s black-and-white theme, which is continued in collected curios throughout the home.
Guest room
Wool felt from The Fabric Store was used to create the striking orange headboard studded with blue buttons in the guest room. A ‘Cross’ cushion from Aura By Tracie Ellis, a green throw from The Modern Furniture Store and various typographical pieces on the built-in shelves create a stylish, homely feel.
Laundry
The laundry has a lovely vintage feel, with cupboards painted in Dulux’s French Limestone, a generous Essastone workbench and a butler’s sink.
