For months, fans speculated that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding venue would be at Ocean House in Rhode Island, thanks to its proximity to Swift’s Watch Hill mansion and its long association with the singer. But as it turns out, the couple had an even grander plan.
On July 3, Taylor and Travis officially tied the knot at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden, transforming the world-famous arena into a breathtaking, secret garden-inspired wedding venue.

For one extraordinary weekend, the iconic New York arena was transformed from one of the world’s busiest sporting and entertainment venues into a romantic wonderland worthy of a Shakespearean love story.
Drawing inspiration from enchanted gardens and theatrical romance, the interiors featured sweeping drapery in soft blush, dusty rose and rich magenta tones that cascaded from the ceiling, concealing the arena’s familiar seating and creating the illusion of an entirely different space.
According to reports, crews worked around the clock to cover the venue’s concrete floors with custom grass carpeting, while dramatic lighting bathed the space in warm pink and purple hues. A grand white staircase, a bespoke gazebo framed by classical columns and even a castle-inspired structure became centrepieces of the ceremony.
The botanical styling completed the fantasy. Towering faux trees, dense greenery and oversized floral installations recreated the feel of an enchanted forest, transforming the arena into what guests described as a magical, storybook setting.
With an ironclad no-phone policy in place, very few details from inside the wedding have emerged. However, AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron—whose company distributed Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film—shared a rare glimpse of the elaborate décor in a social media post before later deleting it.
According to Aron, the experience began the moment guests arrived, with every surface draped in peach and white fabric. One particularly personal touch was a timeline of oversized photographs documenting Taylor and Travis’ lives from childhood through to their teenage years, creating an intimate walk through the couple’s journey long before they met.
Adding to the fairytale moment, giant illuminated signs reading “JUST&T MARRIED” lit up Madison Square Garden following the ceremony, confirming the long-rumoured wedding to fans gathered outside.
The ceremony was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler, while Taylor’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her “Man of Honour” and Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, was his best man. Taylor wore a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture gown for the occasion.

Guests left with an embroidered handkerchief with a nod to one of Taylor’s famous songs.
A handkerchief, featuring the couple’s monogram insignia and the wedding date and location, was shared in an Instagram post from country-pop star Maren Morris.
“So it’s gonna be forever,” a lyric from Taylor’s 2014 hit “Blank Space” was also sewn into the gift.
While Ocean House ultimately wasn’t where the superstar couple exchanged vows, the luxury Rhode Island resort remains closely tied to Taylor’s story. Located just moments from her beloved Watch Hill estate, it has long been part of her famous Fourth of July celebrations and will likely continue to hold a special place in Swift lore—even if Madison Square Garden is now officially the setting of one of pop culture’s most talked-about weddings.
Ocean House was originally built in 1868 as a seaside hotel, it closed in 2003, was demolished, and then meticulously rebuilt to preserve its original look. Reopened in 2010, Ocean House now stands out for its buttery yellow façade and grand Victorian-style architecture.
