After a week of ambitious design choices and one disastrous fireplace setback, The Block 2026 main bedroom and walk-in robe reveals are finally here.
And if there’s one thing this week proved, it’s that a beautiful bedroom is only half the equation. With contestants also tackling enormous walk-in robes; storage, lighting and functionality become just as important as bedheads and styling
By Sunday morning, teams were still painting, installing carpet, hanging curtains and styling against the clock. House 4’s Courtney and Sev faced perhaps the biggest battle after problems with their fireplace wall forced them to pull apart framing, repair bowed studs and replaster before they could even think about finishing touches.
Then it was over to judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox to decide whether all that lost sleep was worth it.
For one couple, it absolutely was.

After a more challenging start to the competition, the couple delivered what the judges considered the stand-out main bedroom and walk-in robe of the week – earning a nine from every judge and impressive 27/30.
Soft, serene and effortlessly cohesive, the winning walk-in wardrobe pairs the new Pale Oak Woodmatt colourway across both doors and internals for a seamless, enveloping finish. The bronze-look handles add a tactile contrast, bringing warmth and understated sophistication to the cabinetry.
Skylights flood the room with natural light and prevent such a cabinetry-heavy space from feeling enclosed.
The Freedom Wardrobes are a genuine hero here. Rather than simply lining the perimeter with cupboards, the layout makes the robe feel like a luxurious dressing room in its own right.

Details we’d change…
Very little. This is one of those rooms where adding more could actually make it worse. We’d resist the temptation to fill every surface and let the architecture and cabinetry remain the hero.

Adam and Jolene were hot on Lisa and Rosco’s heels, earning 25/30 for an elegant main suite that felt “elevated”. Their walk-in robe is enormous – and they’ve used that footprint wisely.
Wall-to-wall pale timber cabinetry gives the space warmth while offering a serious amount of storage, with long stone-topped island creating a luxurious dressing-room feel. Open illuminated shelving at the end breaks up the cabinetry and gives the eye somewhere to land.

We agree with Shaynna that the bedroom could lose a little styling. With such beautiful architectural elements already in place, it doesn’t need quite as much decoration to feel finished.

What a difference a few weeks can make. Chantel and Wyatt delivered a far more sophisticated response to the brief this week, with a beautifully restrained main bedroom and a walk-in robe that feels bright, expansive and incredibly practical. Their Freedom Wardrobe stretches along both sides of the room, with crisp profiles and elegant hardware creating an almost seamless wall of storage.
There’s an almost boutique-like quality to the layout — but importantly, it still feels functional. The judges found the robe slightly clinical and under-styled, and we understand why. A few personal touches would help soften all that cabinetry.
Their bedroom was more universally successful. Soft neutral tones, a curved architectural feature behind the bed and floor-to-ceiling curtains create a calm, cocooning retreat. The high-standard Venetian plaster also earned praise from the judges.

Details we’d change…
The judges were right about the robe needing a little more personality. A stool, tray, artwork or carefully chosen decorative objects would help soften the cabinetry and make it feel like somebody actually lives here.

Third: Rick and Tayla
Their score: 22/30 🥉
Smart styling: Rick and Tayla’s Walk-In Wardrobe combines Linea profile doors in Nordic Oak Woodmatt with matching internals for a cohesive, contemporary finish. Inside, Häfele accessories provide versatile storage. The stone benchtop is Cosentino Dekton Nara. Rick and Tayla might not have landed on the podium this week, but architecturally, there is plenty to admire. Their main bedroom immediately feels different from the others thanks to its soaring ceiling, herringbone timber flooring and strong curved details.
The fireplace is a particularly luxurious inclusion, turning the bedroom into a genuine retreat rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
The walk-in robe continues the timber story with full-height Freedom Wardrobes cabinetry stretching down both sides of the long space. The judges praised the skylights, soaring ceiling, herringbone flooring, architectural curves, warm Venetian plaster and artwork, but questioned some of the expensive choices.

Those curtains have to go to the floor. The bedside lighting and tables also feel underwhelming against the scale and architecture of the room. A more refined styling pass could have completely transformed the judges’ response.

Ouch. After entering the week with hopes of making Block history with a trifecta of room wins, Courtney and Sev instead found themselves at the bottom of the leader board. Most brutally, their bed was compared to a “high-end coffin”.
Their fireplace disaster clearly took its toll. After discovering bowed studs behind the fireplace wall, the pair had to pull apart framing, make repairs, replaster and attempt to prepare the surface for wallpaper — all while the clock continued ticking. They ultimately failed to make tools down, and unfortunately, the judges could see it.
However, their walk-in robe decked out with Freedom Wardrobes offers an abundance of concealed storage, with cabinetry wrapping around the narrow dressing space and a dedicated vanity area tucked at the end.

Details we’d change…
The lighting needs warmth, the unfinished details need resolving and, most importantly, the robe needed a thorough clean before judging. In such an enclosed dressing room, lighting and finish are everything — and both worked against Courtney and Sev this week.
