After weeks spent perfecting interiors, The Block contestants finally headed outside for The Block 2026 pool and terrace reveal – and the results brought some serious Mount Eliza resort energy.
With just 24 hours until reveal, the teams were racing to finish enormous decks, outdoor kitchens and entertaining zones surrounding their Plungie pools. Naturally, The Block had other plans for their Saturday.
By Sunday morning, the rain had arrived and so had judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox.
Scott Cam also announced another addition to the growing Plungie prize pool: a Sentinel Safe from the Timeless Series, complete with a Rolex watch for the eventual winner of The Block.
Here’s how the teams placed, from first to last.
Winners: Adam and Jolene
Their score: 29/30 🥇

Adam and Jolene came home strong this week, delivering an outdoor zone the judges thought sold the Mount Eliza lifestyle beautifully. Up on the terrace, the inclusion of a sauna added another layer to the home’s lifestyle proposition, although the judges questioned whether the tall table had been positioned in the right spot, given its potential to interrupt the outlook.
It was downstairs, however, where House 1 really shone. The expansive timber deck wraps around the pool, with sunloungers, greenery and generous entertaining spaces giving the entire area a relaxed resort feel. The judges were “totally blown away” by the result and felt Adam and Jolene had captured the Mount Eliza dream perfectly.
Details we love…
The outdoor kitchen: Generous bench space, plenty of storage and a front-row view of the pool make this a space that could genuinely be used for entertaining all summer.
Details we’d change…
The high table placement: We’re with the judges – anything that unnecessarily interrupts that outlook deserves a rethink.

Second: Courtney and Sev
Their score: 28.25/30 🥈

Courtney and Sev may not have officially won the week, but they actually received the highest score from the judges – and looking at the sheer scale of their outdoor area, it isn’t difficult to see why. Their terrace immediately impressed, with the judges finally understanding exactly why the couple had chosen House 4.
For the judges, the sheer amount of amenity was extraordinary, with the backyard ultimately described as a “million-dollar” space. It wasn’t perfect, though. They noted unfinished elements, questioned the height of the bar table and weren’t convinced by the cow grates.
Details we love…
The sheer scale: With cooking, dining, lounging and pool zones all given room to breathe, this feels less like a backyard and more like a private resort.
Details we’d change…
Finish every last detail: At this level of competition, unfinished elements stand out – especially in an outdoor space the judges otherwise considered worthy of millions.

Third: Chantel and Wyatt
Their score: 25.5/30 🥉

Chantel and Wyatt delivered another strong execution, with the exterior material palette making an immediate impression on the judges. The pool deck itself is generously sized, with plenty of room for loungers and umbrellas, and the judges appreciated just how much entertaining space had been created.
Their biggest issue was the kitchen. While they liked having additional amenity on the terrace, the lack of a barbecue meant it stopped short of becoming a fully functioning outdoor entertaining kitchen.
Details we love…
The stone wall: The mix of warm-toned stone, timber and woven furniture gives the outdoor zone a beautifully natural, textural feel.
Details we’d change…
Add a barbecue: With the sink and cabinetry already there, including somewhere to actually cook would turn this compact kitchenette into a far more useful entertaining zone.

Fourth: Lisa and Rosco
Their score: 22/30

Lisa and Rosco’s pool and terrace had some beautiful individual moments, but several practical decisions prevented the space from reaching its full potential. On the terrace, the judges once again questioned the placement of a high table, which interrupted the outlook from the rumpus room. Without a sauna, however, they felt the area was less cluttered than some of its neighbours.
Down at pool level, the dark interior finish gave the water a striking, moody appearance and the timber deck was kept beautifully simple with white umbrellas, greenery and pared-back furniture. But the biggest talking point was the pool fence. Its placement puzzled the judges, as did the apparent lack of steps providing an obvious route down to the pool.
Details we love…
The dark pool: Against the warm timber decking and crisp white furniture, the darker pool finish creates a sophisticated point of difference from the neighbouring houses.
Details we’d change…
Rethink the pool access: A beautiful pool loses some of its appeal when the route to actually reach it isn’t intuitive, making the fencing and missing steps a major functional concern.

Last: Rick and Tayla
Their score: 21.5/30

Rick and Tayla may have finished last, but the judges saw enormous potential in House 5’s outdoor spaces. Their greatest advantage is one that styling can’t manufacture: the sheer size of their backyard and its outlook.
The judges loved the stone exterior and praised the overall colour palette, while the expansive timber deck creates several different places to gather around the pool. A covered outdoor kitchen includes a barbecue, sink and island-style table, while a separate lounge zone makes the most of the leafy outlook.
However, the judges questioned the entertaining layout and the scale of the television, and ultimately the unfinished state of the space became impossible to overlook.
Details we love…
The olive tree: Allowing an established-looking tree to emerge through the decking brings softness and character to an otherwise substantial expanse of hard landscaping.
Details we’d change…
Refine the entertaining layout: With this much outdoor space to play with, stronger zoning between cooking, dining and lounging could make the enormous backyard feel much more connected.
