From kitchen gadgets to high-end homewares, Amazon Australia sells almost everything you could imagine. Including from premium brands the Home Beautiful team loves such as KitchenAid, Le Creuset, Breville and Dyson. Alongside the vast collection of products on Amazon, there are plenty of deals, from promo codes to flash sales and targeted offers that can provide great value.
The latest Amazon Prime Day sale is a great example of this, with discounts of up to 70% – or even more in the case of this Roborock Qrevo L robot vacuum, which is discounted by 72% and more than $1000 off the recommended retail price. When I attended Amazon Australia’s Prime Day launch, I also saw the Dreame X40 robot vacuum discounted by over $2000, Sennheiser headphones for 59% off and this KitchenAid mixer for 48% off.
While Prime Day is one of the store’s biggest shopping events of the year, the way people shop has become more considered.
“We’re seeing customers really shop more intentionally, so not just impulse purchases or big buys, but really looking for ways to make their dollar go a bit further,” Amazon’s Duncan Fredericks says.

How to redeem an Amazon promo code
- Choose any verified offer from Home Beautiful’s edit of Amazon deals and click on it to get the code, or further offer details if no code is needed.
- Go to the site – you’ll find a new window open that takes you straight to Amazon.
- Add your items to cart, then click through to go to the checkout. If you’re not logged in, you’ll be prompted to do so. You can also create an account for free, if you don’t have one.
- Check if the promo code has been applied automatically – this is typically the case for a code you click to redeem on a product page.
- Follow the prompts during the checkout process, and when you get to the ‘Payment Method’ section, enter the code where it says ‘Enter a gift card’, then select ‘Apply’. Your order will automatically update to reflect the valid discount or offer.

How to get more value with an Amazon Prime membership
Anyone can shop on Amazon once they set up an account but an Amazon Prime subscription is an easy way to unlock bigger savings and more value.
This includes Amazon Prime Day deals – which are exclusive to members – as well as early access to other sales, coupons, codes and flash promotions. Members also get free shipping on eligible orders – I don’t think I’ve paid for shipping since I subscribed years ago. While I joined to access Amazon Prime streaming, I’d now say I get more value from the shopping benefits and offers.
How much does Amazon Prime membership cost in Australia?
If you’re new, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime and get full access to member benefits during that time. After that, a $9.99 monthly fee is charged for Amazon Prime membership. So that first month during the trial can be a great way to take advantage of member benefits before deciding if it’s worth it for you.
If you’re regularly shopping on Amazon and using Prime benefits, you can also switch to an annual subscription for $79. This saves me around 34% (or $40.88) on subscription fees compared to paying the monthly membership fee for a year.
But if you’re not convinced you’ll get enough value from Amazon Prime, I’d set a calendar reminder to cancel it at the end of the 30-day trial. Otherwise, the $9.99 monthly fee will automatically be deducted from the card linked to your Amazon account.
More ways to save at Amazon
- Subscribe and save: Amazon offers discounts of up to 10% on subscriptions for household essentials such as laundry detergent, baby wipes, pet food, hair and skin care and even tea. You can also pause or cancel a subscription at any time. I’ve used it to save on pantry staples, getting a much better price than I would if I bought the same products at the supermarket.
- Buy more and save: Amazon runs promotions where you can get a discount for buying multiple items. I recently saw a 5% discount when buying five eligible products, and in the past I’ve seen discounts of up to 20% for this type of promotion.
- Amazon Outlet: Amazon often has big discounts on items that have been overstocked. When I checked, there were discounts from around 10% to 58%, with light globes, outdoor lights and a gold cake cutting set among the things that caught my eye.
- Amazon Resale: This section of Amazon has offers on quality used, pre-owned or open box products. For example, I’ve saw a Ninja Professional 2.1L Food Processor in ‘Very Good’ used condition for $114.08 – a saving of around 8% on buying it new, as well as a similar discount on a Philips 3000 Hand Steamer in ‘Very Good’ used condition. These discounts aren’t for everyone, and depend on stock, but it could be helpful if you’re shopping to a strict budget.
- Baby Wishlist: Creating a Baby Wishlist on Amazon Australia gives you a way to get 15% off eligible items, up to a maximum of $300. Amazon also offers a free Welcome Box when you create the baby wishlist and spend $39 on baby items. You can also share the list with family and friends, find out who sent what to thank them and more.
Switching to the Amazon app helped me find more promo codes – here’s what to know
I only recently downloaded the Amazon AU app and it has been a game-changer. I’ve found four app-only promo codes in the past day, plus other exclusive offers and the design makes it easy to move from products to cart to order details. You can even search for items by taking a picture, which I’ve found helpful when I’m out and see something I’d like to get for my home.
When I downloaded the app, there was also a promo code for $10 off my first order over $59 –Amazon frequently runs these deals for select members, so it’s worth checking your account or here for the latest offers.
How often does Amazon have sales?
Amazon Australia has a deals sections where you can find the latest sales, Lightnening Deals, limited-time offers ending at midnight, Subscribe & Save and Buy More, Save More offers. I’ve shopped this section regularly and found savings ranging from around 3% to more than 75% at different times. My biggest tip is to use filters so you can see the most relevant deals based on what you want to buy (or search for a specific item).
It’s also worth keeping in mind these sale periods, which I’ve found typically offer the biggest discounts and widest range of valuable offers.
- Amazon Australia Big Smile Sale: Usually runs for several days in March or April.
- Mid-year sale: As well as Prime and other Amazon offers, you can find competitive End of Financial Year sales offers and products from popular retailers and brands that have Amazon Australia stores.
- Prime Day: Exclusive to Amazon Prime members (including free trial members), this online event offers valuable deals across almost all categories and usually runs in July. In 2026, Amazon Prime Day deals are available from Tuesday July 7 until Monday July 13, giving you a week of valuable offers.
- Prime Big Day Deals: This is another sale exclusive to Amazon Prime members and usually runs over several days in the second half of the year.
- Black Friday: Held on the last Friday in November, Black Friday and Cyber Monday (which follows it) are now widely considered as the biggest sales event in Australia. Amazon has huge deals and savings across just about everything you can imagine.
- Boxing Day: Officially the 26 December each year, Boxing Day sales are of a similar scale to Black Friday, making them ideal for a post-Christmas purchase or two.

What if an Amazon promo code doesn’t work?
Sometimes this can be solved simply by re-entering the promo code exactly as it is written, with no extra spaces or punctuation, according to Amazon Australia. If that doesn’t help, check the details of the promotion – sometimes an Amazon promo code may only apply to products sold directly by Amazon or a specific partnered retailer. To make it easier to check these details, any promo codes we include here will share key details and direct you to the relevant section of Amazon.
What if there’s no code?
If you choose a promotion or sale that doesn’t require a promo code, the details will automatically be applied to your order. You can also view details of any savings before and after placing an order.
How can I get a $10 Amazon discount?
Amazon Australia frequently offers $10 discounts for new app customers, but I’ve only been able to view these when logged into my account. So start by logging in – which will also make it easier to find other Amazon promo codes and offers on individual product pages.
You can also check Amazon’s deals and coupons page or browse offers that earn you a voucher for your next purchase. I actually got a $20 voucher offer on my last purchase, which showed up at the checkout in the app – so it’s worth keeping an eye out across Amazon for all kinds of savings.
Does Amazon offer free shipping?
Amazon Prime members get free shipping on a wide range of items, both from Australian and international sellers. This includes free expedited delivery for eligible orders, which means you could receive some items within a day or two of ordering them.
If you’re not a Prime member, you may sometimes be able to get free delivery through a promotion or particular order. You’ll find shipping details on the product page and can enter your postcode to get an estimate of the cost and delivery time.
Where do Amazon products ship from?
Amazon Australia has a network of warehouses across the country, so many purchases may be shipped from there – you can even filter your search to ship from Amazon Australia. But there are also sellers that are based overseas, so in some cases your items could be shipped from elsewhere. As a frequent shopper on Amazon, I’ve received items from Australia, the US, UK, Canada and China (to name a few) – all have come in a reasonable time (and a fair few have arrived faster than I expected). My tip is to check the delivery details before adding something to cart – especially if you need it in a certain timeframe.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery times vary depending on the order, seller and your location. You may also be able to choose standard or expedited/express delivery for some orders. You can get an estimate before placing your order and can also track orders for more accurate delivery times.
What is Amazon’s return policy?
If you change your mind about something purchased from Amazon directly, you have 30 days from delivery to return it for a refund. In most cases, you will be responsible for any shipping costs. It’s also worth keeping in mind that if your items are damaged, faulty, not as described or have other issues, you may be entitled to a refund, replacement or other compensation under Australian Consumer Law.
