From designs to discount codes: What Home Beautiful’s editors rate at Freedom

Founded in Sydney in 1981, Freedom has built its reputation for high quality furniture and homewares that blend timelessness with trends –and offer value for money. The brand is often one of the first places I turn to when I want to refresh a space in my home, and has featured in Home Beautiful articles covering everything from the best modular sofas and mattresses to furniture for apartment living and outdoor spaces. Home Beautiful Managing Editor Rebecca Hooton has even described Freedom’s Biscay outdoor dining set as “one of the best additions I’ve made to the space,” after she spotted it while on a shoot and bought it for her own outdoor area.

“It delivers designer-level outdoor style in a compact, practical format – with finishes that mirror natural stone,” she said in her review (which also features some stunning photos).

Then, of course, there’s all the inspiration from The Block, which features Freedom furniture. When reflecting on the 2026 main bedroom and walk-in robes, Home Beautiful Senior Content Producer Bianca Mastroianni praised the winning team’s choice of Freedom’s new Pale Oak Woodmatt colour for their wardrobe doors. “The Freedom Wardrobes are a genuine hero here,” she says.

As a Deals Editor – and a journalist who has more than 17 years of experience writing on lifestyle and personal finance topics – I’m always aware of prices and balancing the household budget. What stands out to me about Freedom is that many of its pieces give a sense of designer style, but at a mid-tier price that’s more economical (and sometimes more practical). It’s the store I turn to when I don’t have a designer budget but still want furniture that will last. And the opportunities to save – from myFreedom member pricing and discount vouchers to codes, promotions and sales – add even more value.

Freedom FAQs

Does Freedom have a discount code for first orders?

Freedom does sometimes run a limited promotional offer for 10% off for new customers who subscribe for email updates. When available, this offer is only for select customers “who are presented with the offer on the Freedom website”, according to the terms and conditions. So it’s not always available, and may only be offered for a limited-time.

If you want to check for this code, you could try visiting the site in an incognito/private browser window. Or use Freedom’s online chat to ask about getting the first-order discount code for subscribers.

During my research to update this article, I actually received the offer via a pop-up and was sent a unique discount code for 10% off. The code’s valid for 30 days and can be used on most items at Freedom, including discounted sale items, unless specifically stated otherwise. To give you an idea, here are screenshots of the pop-up offer and welcome email I received.

Does Freedom Furniture have a student discount?

Freedom doesn’t currently have a discount just for students. But if you’re studying, you could still save with one of the verified deals here, or wait for a sale.

Freedom may sometimes run a limited-time promotion for free shipping, although there isn’t one right now. You can also get free homewares deliveries on orders over $149 in metro areas as a myFreedom member.

How much does delivery cost with Freedom?

Freedom calculates delivery fees based on the size of your items and your location, so t he exact amount is calculated at the checkout. But to give you some idea of the potential costs, large furniture deliveries start from $129, small furniture deliveries start from $69 and homeware deliveries start from $15.95.

Can I click and collect at Freedom?

Yes! Freedom offers free click and collect for homewares and free click and collect from their network of warehouses for larger items. When it’s available, you can choose this option at the checkout to save on delivery fees. Just remember to check the measurements if you’re picking up larger furniture to make sure it will fit in your car, trailer or other vehicle.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times vary based on stock availability and your location. But you can get an estimated timeframe by entering your postcode on a product page.

“Freedom rugs are widely considered a high-quality, mid-range investment, offering a significant step up in durability and craftsmanship compared to budget-friendly alternatives. Their hand-loomed wool and natural jute collections are particularly well-regarded for their weight and longevity, often featuring premium textures that feel far more expensive than their price tag suggests.”

What is Freedom’s return policy?

You can return eligible homeware items within 30 days of delivery or collection for online orders (or 30 days from purchase in-store). The items need to be unopened and in their original condition, with proof of purchase.

You also have a longer, 60-day change of mind period if you’re a myFreedom member. But keep in mind that you need to pay for shipping costs for any returns that can’t be made at a store.

Freedom and Sealy co-branded mattresses also have a 120 Night Mattress Comfort Guarantee. This means you can return a mattress within the first 120 if it’s not right for you.

For other items, you may be entitled to a refund, replacement or repairs under Australian Consumer Law if, for example, an item is damaged on arrival or faulty.

For more details on returns, including excluded items, make sure you view the Freedom Online Customer Terms and Conditions.
